Skrållan Talking Doll from Axis Toys.

Over here at 2masters_and_a_miss, we are so lucky to have received yet another stunning doll from our friends at Axis Toys. Skrållan doll is 45cm long and was born in 1966 and has since become Swedens most popular talking doll!

When we opened the shipping box, Elsa gasped. She was over the moon that her new dolly was PINK. She is pink obsessed so she’d pretty much been won over instantly! The next thing she noticed was her hair. “Oh mummy, I love her hairrrr.” And so did I! Even I couldn’t wait to unbox this stunning doll!

Once we took her out of the box, Dex decided her name was Lily. Luckily Elsa was happy with that because it seemed she didn’t get a say haha!

We pushed her tummy to hear her speak for the first time, and got a shock! She was speaking a different language. We all thought this was very cool, and opened up a dialogue about how people have different backgrounds and can speak other languages. As I opened the back of Skrållan doll to change the language, I realised she spoke not two or three, but five different languages! She speaks Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and English. So we switched it to English and Elsa could not stop pressing her tummy to hear her speak. In total, Skrållan doll can say 24 different sentences. Her laugh is infectious!

We then decided to change little Lily out of her pyjamas, and into the most stunning blue party dress, also by Skrållan. The details were so on point on this dress, if only we could have a matching one for Elsa!

Once we were all dressed, Elsa thought it would be nice to brush her hair. It was so soft and thick and silky, perfect for little hands to brush easily. Elsa is totally in love with this gorgeous new doll, I can’t seem to get it away from her! The soft, plush body certainly helps as it means she is perfect for cuddles!

Next, Elsa is of the opinion Lily is sleepy and it’s time for bed. So we put her (and Elsa) into her pyjamas and laid Lily down in her cradle (not included). As we put her in her cradle Elsa squealed “she ASLEEP!” because her eyes close as you lay her down. She was so excited!

We loved all of Skrållan doll’s little details. Her eyes that open and close, her little mouth, her knee dimples and her cute little feet and her little toes complete with knuckles and skin creases! Elsa loves to cuddle up with Lily Skrållan doll every night for bedtime, and being so soft and cuddly I am happy to leave them snuggled up in bed for the night.

We are pretty excited to find out Skrållan doll has a little sister (named Lillan which could get confusing after Dexter named this one Lily 😂) and we may have to try to find one for Elsa from Santa!

The Little Range.

It’s back to school time! And you know what that means… those lovely germs being spread from child to child. But this year, we are prepared for the dreaded colds and other illnesses.

Ever since I can remember, we have relied on Little Noses to make sure our children’s noses were clear. The perfectly shaped nozzle on the bottle ensures the spray is able to get into the tiniest of noses, meaning clearing your children’s noses is a breeze!

The amazing Little Range also has some other products that I wasn’t even aware of, after so many years of using Little Noses! Little Coughs is a brilliant syrup, based on an extract of ivy leaf. It helps ease the cough and reduce chest inflammation by breaking down the mucus caused by illnesses such as bronchitis. We will definitely be keeping a bottle in the cupboard for those restless nights when our poor kids can’t stop coughing!
We also have found Little Eyes. They are wipes that have been specifically designed to wipe away any secretions related to illnesses around the eye area. Little Eyes are free of alcohol, fragrances and preservatives and enriched with chamomile extract so are gentle on your children’s eyes. They are also ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested and recommended!

These products are trusted, and used by many parents around Australia. They are definitely must haves for your back to school preparation!

Thanks to Morey Media for our amazing The Little Range back to school pack!

Miniland Doll Review.

We had the pleasure of being sent a beautiful Miniland Doll from Axis Toys to review this week, and he arrived at the perfect time! It was Elsa’s birthday recently and she had received two gorgeous Miniland Dolls so he was able to join our Miniland family.

When he arrived, the kids were so excited. (So was I!) Miniland dolls are so realistic, right down to the tiniest details. Their eyes, their little dimples on their knees and even the cute little bumps on their back from their spine! These anatomically correct dolls also smell amazing and are made from the softest vinyl.

I’ve been asked a couple of times what sets these dolls apart from the rest? What makes them different? Well, as I said they are anatomically correct, but they also promote and normalise cultural and racial diversity and I’m big on that. Miniland dolls come in a diverse range and are an important educational resource, which help comprehend the concepts of family, population groups, the basic rules of relationships and coexistence, respect for racial and sexual diversity.

The kids loved that the head, arms and legs can be articulated so they can be sat, laying down, or used anyway that they please. These dolls promote imagination as they don’t speak or come with accessories so they don’t have a specific way of play, and no small parts mean they’re perfect for age 0 and up! Their realistic hair can be brushed, braided, or basically anything their mummy or daddy wants to do with it. (Let’s just hope they don’t get their hands on scissors!)

I loved that with these dolls, my kids were able to mimic what we as parents do. I was able to see how much of an impact my style of parenting had on my children. I witnessed them baby wearing, pushing them in the pram, pretending to breastfeed and change their nappy. Nothing made me happier than watching them play this way.

All in all, these stunning dolls made in Spain are perfect for all children to learn about a multitude of subjects, along with being fun and super cute. Who wouldn’t want one under their Christmas tree this year?

A Precious Day- Jessica Götz Doll.

Elsa is very doll and baby obsessed lately. So when Jessica arrived on our doorstep, she was stoked. We opened the box, and Elsa gasped. “Oh! DOLLY DOLLY DOLLY!” I couldn’t get it out of the box fast enough for her!

Once Elsa had her doll in her little hands, the first thing she noticed was her beautiful eyes, and how they opened and closed. She could see that if she lay Jessica down, her eyes would close so she was sleeping. She took such joy in telling everyone “shhhh, seeeeping!!”

Her clothes were absolutely stunning. Even I had style envy! Jessica came with her own gorgeous little handbag, although Elsa has decided to use the handbag for herself. The amount of imagination I see Elsa use with her new Götz doll from Axis Toys is amazing. She plays doctors with her, and sings Miss Polly to her, she plays hairdressers with her beautiful, thick, long hair. Jessica actually reminds me of a grown up version of Elsa. Her brother even suggested we name Jessica “Elsa All Grown Up.”

All in all, A Precious Day- Jessica is a beautiful doll that encourages creativity and imagination. She’s given Miss Elsa a best friend, and one she can relate to.

I adore that you can go on the website and find a range of dolls that represent different nationalities, hair colour, skin tone, and we all know how much representation matters to our little people.

You can find your own beautiful Götz Doll at http://www.axistoys.com/Goetz-Dolls and you’re bound to find one that will be your child’s best friend forever.

Little Makeup Lovers Review

It’s no secret that a lot of kids love playing with make up. When you see the hilarious photos of end results, of children getting into their parents make up bag, shimmer everywhere, misplaced lipstick, eyeliner and mascara smooshed in their hair and face! While that part is hilarious, it’s not so much fun trying to get that mess off your precious child’s face- and worse… THE CARPET!

So you can imagine my excitement (and Elsa’s) when we received a parcel from @littlemakeuplovers in the mail! Not only is this small business creating cute make up for kids, but they’re creating FAUX make up! So it looks just like real make up, without the mess! Your little make up artist can play until their heart’s content without meaning you have to scrub for hours to get those pink stains out of the carpet.

The set we tried was the deluxe set, in which you will receive:

Completion compact (light/medium or dark)

Blush x2

Lipstick-pink and red

Eye shadow pod x2

and Makeup bag.

Elsa took great joy in having free range of her own make up! You have the option of also purchasing a set of make up brushes, which she thought was pretty exciting too. Even Kingston found the make up fun to use, and helped show Elsa how to use it! We especially loved the glitter shadows.
